Painting

Lately in mr. Sands art class we had to do a painting. But not just an ordinary painting we had to chose three references and draw them as one picture. if you were in this picture you would here the crashing of giant and powerful waves. Along with the smell of sea salt.

Adobe Illustrator

In Art today we used Adobe Illustrator to create flowers. All these flowers were created from stars but cropped and altered with the power of Illustrator.

SO FAR SO GOOD

We have done so much in Mr. Sands class and I am so  proud of how far I have come. The picture on the left is probably my most successful because I actually tried and I wanted it to look good. Also I thought the spray paint looked fun so I got to work on my project so I could enjoy the project.

I learned a lot from he shadow junk pile picture. I learned that art isn't always about drawing and painting, you can also make work out of everyday objects like the McDonald's cup and sumbrero in our picture.

Printing Press

Lately in Mr. Sands Art class we have been doing prints. Prints are kind of like stamps, you carve into this little rubber block and spread ink across it then press it to paper and the image appears. Here I made a sea turtle with a lot of colors. The only thing I don't like about it is that the ink fades on the corners which meant I should have added more. And most importantly I LIKE TURDLES!!!

Spray Paint Portraits

For step number 2 of the stencil unit we did face spray paint portraits. Most people cut out three portraits to spray paint, but I decided to take a different route and only cut out one with a gradient. And for those of you who don't know a gradient is when you put down one color and it slowly blends into another. In the picture you can see me unvailing my amazing portrait to Anthony Silk with him totally enthrlled at how amazing it is.

Face Sketches

In the next unit we did in Mr. Sands art class, we did stencils. Stencils are little cut-outs that when traced can turn into a picture. As a stepping stone to doing face stencils we did face sketches. Here you can see me hard at work trying to draw my eyes. I learned through this project that eyes are actually in the middle of your head, but do not appear to be because your head comes over your forehead. The major place I struggled during this project is the eyes, it was hard to get them the correct distance apart.

Value Scale Drawing

In Art we made value scale drawings. Value scale drawings are drawings with only shades of blacks and whites. This apple was drawn by me and with the shading you can see where the light is hitting the apple. This makes it seem real with the light bouncing off of it and the added shadow.

Junk Pile Shadow

One day in art, Mr. Sands period three class decided to make a shadow scene out of nothing. Mr. Sands told us that we had to construct a scene using old garbage he collected. My group members and I constructed a U.F.O flying above a building. The U.F.O was actually a mini sumbrero on top of a straw coming out of a McDonald's cup. This project turned out way better than I thought it would.

Hanimals
In Mr. Sands AOIT Art I class we started doing "hanimals'. Hanimals are animals that have been painted onto your hands. Below you see an amazing picture of an octopus painted by me and Anthony Silk. I tried to make the octopus look more realistic by adding flashes of color with more paint but it didn't turn out to good, so me and Anthony decided to keep it simple with the blue octopus

Newimal Bones

In Mr. Sands Art 1, we have drew bones for our Nweimals. Which are two animals that have been merged into one. Michelle Alexis Green's photo(as shown above) is a mixture of a wolf and rabbit. She was very creative and thought outside of the box by giving it a giant head.
